Fulvia 1.3 S Monte Carlo
- Desirable Azzurro Francia (French Blue)
- Cromodora magnesium wheels and Carello spotlights
- Group 4 exhaust and uprated shock absorbers
The Lancia Fulvia Coupé Monte Carlo is one of the most charismatic of Lancia's celebrated special editions, with only 2,529 Series 3 examples produced, created to commemorate Sandro Munari and Mario Mannucci's famous 1972 Monte-Carlo Rally victory. Based on the Fulvia Coupé 1.3 S, the Monte Carlo combined distinctive rally-inspired styling with Lancia's sophisticated front-wheel-drive engineering.
This particularly appealing example is finished in a superb shade of Azzurro Francia (French Blue) and is notable for its remarkable originality. Our vendor, a lifelong Lancia enthusiast who has owned a considerable number of Fulvias, sourced the car in Italy in 2019 from the son of a successful manufacturing entrepreneur in Padova, whose impressive collection included a number of interesting automobiles. The car retains a wealth of its original and highly desirable Monte Carlo equipment, including Carello spotlights, Cromodora magnesium wheels, a Vitaloni wing mirror, Ferrero steering wheel, flared rear arches inspired by the HF competition cars and the characteristic matte-black bonnet. The car was subsequently featured on the front cover of Auto Italia magazine in December 2019, alongside the vendor's Fulvia Safari, providing particularly good contemporary provenance. Mechanically, the Fulvia has been upgraded with a Group 4 exhaust manifold and exhaust system, together with uprated shock absorbers, while the vendor reports that it runs beautifully.
The car has recently been MoT tested and is accompanied by a certificate valid until August 2027. Presented in lovely condition, this is a highly characterful and usable little classic with the added rarity and desirability of the Monte Carlo specification. With its wonderful period details and competition-inspired appearance, it represents an extremely appealing Fulvia at an accessible level of entry. Consigned by Fraser Smith
