The Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit, introduced in 1980, ushered in a new era for the marque, combining the traditional craftsmanship and engineering excellence for which Rolls-Royce was renowned with a more contemporary design. Replacing the long-serving Silver Shadow, the Silver Spirit retained the legendary 6.75 litre V8 engine and effortless automatic transmission while introducing improved ride quality through advanced self-levelling suspension and a significantly more modern interior. Hand-built at Crewe, each example featured beautifully crafted Connolly leather, deep Wilton carpets and hand-finished wood veneers, creating one of the world's finest luxury saloons. Today, early Silver Spirits are increasingly appreciated for their elegant styling, exceptional comfort and remarkably usable classic status.
First registered on 4th February 1982, this early Silver Spirit is presented in an attractive two-tone Ice Green finish, beautifully complemented by a beige leather interior. Powered by Rolls-Royce's renowned 6.75 litre V8 engine coupled to an automatic transmission, offering the smooth and refined motoring experience expected of the marque. Accompanying the car is an extensive history file containing a wealth of service records together with its original factory build sheets, adding valuable provenance and insight into its original specification. Whilst the recorded mileage cannot be warranted, the condition, history and presentation suggest a motor car that has clearly been maintained throughout its life. Offered with a substantial history portfolio and in an elegant period colour combination, this Silver Spirit represents an appealing opportunity to acquire an increasingly sought-after Crewe-built Rolls-Royce, equally suited to continued enjoyment or sympathetic enhancement by its next custodian.
